Musing- Spider [Profile]

Name: Goes by “Spider”

Species: Augmented Human. While born as a human, he underwent a dramatic transformation that left him with a number of inhuman traits. Most notably, he has six arms, which attach in turn to a slightly elongated rib cage. The index and middle fingers on each hand end in short claws, and bear spinnerets capable of producing strands of spider silk on command. In addition, he has a pair of short, retractable limbs ending in venomous fangs hidden in his cheeks, tucked against his upper jaw. The venom amplifies nerve signals, making pain and pleasure much more intense, so a small wound might become unbearable, and a sensual touch might bring one to the brink of orgasm.

Age: 24-ish

Appearance: Spider is not particularly tall, standing only five and a half feet tall, and would be shorter were it not for his transformation. Nor is he particularly muscular, though he is extremely toned, with a quick, wiry sort of build, and far more strength than seems appropriate. He is, however, extremely handsome, with deep tan skin, long, dark hair tied back in a ponytail, a few day’s rugged stubble on a narrow, yet masculine face, and deep, soulful brown eyes. He embodies the dark, mysterious stranger, and typically dresses the part, wearing a custom suit of dark riding leathers, a wide-brimmed hat pulled low, and a large poncho draped over his shoulders, loose enough to disguise his extra arms to the casual glance. Unclothed, Spider has surprisingly dense, dark body hair, with thick fuzz on his chest and a somewhat more slender trail running down over his rugged eight-pack abs. His long, uncut cock is a good six inches long soft, and just a fraction more than a foot long when fully hard.

Abilities: Spider is very, very good with his hands. Multidextrous, he can use each hand as proficiently as if it were his primary, and he can multitask with the best of them, able to perform different tasks with each one. In combat, he tends to rely upon the intimidation factor of drawing six handheld ranged weapons to avoid confrontation, even though he’s not a particularly good shot. He is, however, terrifyingly skilled with knives. Outside of combat, he puts his gifted hands to work in other ways. He’s an expert musician, playing the guitar and the piano, and he’s been known to use sleight of hand to cheat at card and dice games for a quick payday. He’s also an incorrigible womanizer and flirt, and his skill with his hands serves him well in the bedroom. He may even use his silk-spinning abilities for some light bondage.

Equipment: Six hand-held ranged weapons (hand crossbows, pistols, or energy weapons depending on the setting), six small knives, riding leathers (either horse- or motorcycle- style), acoustic guitar, deck of playing cards.

Personality: Spider tends to play the role of the wandering cowboy with the heart of gold, but in truth, his heart is hardly gold. He’s a gambler, a liar, a cheater, and a womanizer. He has little trouble telling a lie or bending a rule if it gets him closer to what he wants, be it a pocketful of money, a night with a beautiful woman, or simply a still-unbroken nose. He’s a gambler, constantly bluffing that he’s got a better hand than he does, betting that false bravado will turn his attackers away, wagering that he can get away with sleeping with a taken woman. Like any successful gambler, he’s always got an ace up his sleeve, just in case things go wrong.

Backstory: Spider doesn’t talk much about his past, or his plans for the future, but whether he admits to it or not, there WAS a past, a life before he became Spider. A relatively normal life, raised by a mother and father in the country. His father was often gone, working elsewhere to support the family, but he was never neglected, never abused or abandoned. It wasn’t perfect, by any stretch, but it was good. And then came the teenage years, and with them, the obligatory rebellious phase. After a particularly violent shouting match between the boy and his parent, he stormed out of the house, marching off to do something hasty and irreversible. His parents would never see him again. (depending on the setting, the event could be anything from government super-soldier program to unstable cosmetic splice to pissing off a witch to some world-spanning catastrophe.) When his transformation was complete, he knew he couldn’t go home, and so he left. At first, he begged for money with his music. Then he began to gamble with that money. Then he began to cheat to get more. Along the way, he learned how to lie, how to steal, how to fight. After losing his virginity in a house of ill repute, he added women to his growing list of vices, and he’s been roaming the frontiers since, keeping just a half-step ahead of the chaos he leaves in his wake. But somewhere, in the back of his mind, he wonders if there’s ever going to be something more out there.

Desires: Spider is a man of simple needs. He desires comfort, drink, thrills, and pleasure, all at once if he can get them. A life of endless luxury would be the ideal, but he knows that’s never going to be in his cards. He is particularly fond of women, girls of nearly every description, and considers himself a connoisseur of the fairer sex, tasting the unique pleasures each one can offer. He tends not to think of the future beyond the coming nightfall, and when he finds himself pondering the future in such broad terms, he tends to suddenly find himself with a powerful desire for a stiff drink.

Fears: Spider fears a number of things. The angry husband, the watchful gambler, the bandit on the road… But perhaps what he fears the most, the fear that haunts his every step and hangs over him like the sword of damocles is the fear that someday, somebody is going to call his bluff, and it will all be over. That the persona he’s created, the identity, the way of life he’s gotten used to, is all going to come crumbling down with little more than a few well-aimed words, and that he’ll never be able to put the pieces together again.

Secrets: Spider’s real name is Terrence. When he first set out, he tried the name Arana, but constantly explaining how it was supposed to be pronounced took away from the mystique he was trying to build up.
